Self Portrait 12/08

I almost missed this month… with all the craziness… I almost let it go because I didn’t feel like I looked my best. I’m tired and a bit puffy from all the celebrating. But then I thought about the reason I am doing this exercise. It’s not about looking like a model. It’s about capturing my image… before the moment is gone.

I did something a little crazy this time. I didn’t do hair or makeup. I’m kind of regretting it but still mildly excited about my own personal growth. You have no idea… anyway… here I am:

Self Portrait 1208

Your turn: Leave a link to your latest picture. Don’t have one? Quick! Take one! Before the moment is gone…

I did take one!!! Of me in a fluffy, Russian hat. I will be posting it on my blog soon.

The light, the wonder, the satisfaction and wisdom in your eyes. It's all the reason I am happy to call you my friend.

I think this is the year we are going to meet, what say you?

Did you get my overload of DM's last night when I saw this? HA! Oh, not HA! on you pic though! :-) Just love this whole idea/project/self journey.
Will be posting and encouraging others. Want to talk to you about it. Want to make a Self Portrait 'Badge' for women to join in for 2009.

If I looked as good as you I'd go make up-less all the time. I resemble Sloth from the Goonies. As it says in my yearbooks..."No photo available."

D'Arcy: Can't wait to head over and see your Russian Hat. I bet you look fabulous!

Noelle: I am so glad this sparked something in you and look forward to seeing this on your blog!

Domestic Goddess (in training): Dear... do I need to go over there and smack you? Do you know that you ARE beautiful? Picture yourself as who you will be at 80. Now look back fifty years to who you are now. What do you think that 80 yr old woman is gonna say? "Man! I looked great!!!" Don't cheat yourself out of who you are right here... right now...

Okay... done... no more soap box... for now.

What an inspiration! And what a natural, pure beauty you are.

This is a great idea. So, you do this every month?

My portrait is at: http://tinyurl.com/8hk4on

(Taken for the class I had almost a year ago.)

You look absolutely terrific without makeup! I didn't have the courage to snap a self-portrait and post it. Maybe I will in time.

You look wonderful this way.. the Pilot is lucky to have this to wake up to every morning! I will do my shot and come back with a link. It is only in the last 8 months or so that I have decided it is fun doing pictures...even though I am no beauty queen, I am all of me- which is much more interesting ;-)

Ok, I'm in. Besides, I have all of this camera stuff and you can only look at so many pictures of my dog! I was inspired by the 'raw' sugar so I opted for no war paint in my first pic!

I'm not so sure I will opt for the natural look in the future but it was very freeing to put this out there!
