Promise Yourself...

I have this on a magnet at the side of my fridge that is right next to my Senseo. While I wait for my frothy cup of joe, I read these words:

"Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. Look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best. Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. Live in the faithe that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you!"

--Christian D. Larson

This bit of simple wisdom along with my coffee are the perfect morning attitude adjustment. Gives me a great perspective for the day. Some days are tougher than others, but I have strategically placed enough great quotes and bible verses all over the house and office so that when I begin to lose any belief in myself, I can be reminded... reassured... and revitalized.

What are the quotes or verses that get you through your days? Please share them here in the comments. You never know who will need to read those words.

Thanks for that inspiration with my cup of Peets coffee. I need to post something in my home too.

Dear Sugar,

I LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing these words with me today, this beautiful Monday morning. I'm grateful that when you wrote them, you thought of me. That's very sweet of you to share.

You are a great addition to my Twitter family and I'm very grateful that our paths have crossed.

Happy Monday. May your week overflow with bliss. :)

With gratitude and hugs,

"Breathe"

So simple, and so lifesaving.

I used to tell my students to breathe when they were anxious and they always looked at me like i was crazy, but it is the first step in regaining equilibrium so you can do whatever you need to do.

That was great. How nice to see that every morning. I don't have quotes everywhere, but when I need a pick me up, I grab my kid and listen to her heart. Keeps everything in perspective for me.

Two of my fav's 1) people can only rent space in your head if you let them. 2)if you see crazy walking down the road, cross the street.

I really like the quote that you shared. I need these kinds of attitude adjustments daily so thanks for sharing.

I too have quotes around my home...a couple that I have are these...one is a picture of large hands holding a very tiny baby in them and says "How precious is your life in the Hands of the Father." This hangs on my fridge. and because I am also a visual person, this one really grounds me and helps remind me of my worth.

The other is one that my daughter gave me some time ago and I don't know who wrote it.
"Remember the important things. The things that make your life what it is...that make you who you are.
Wake up every day and be thankful. Sleep every night and be grateful.
Love you. Love others. Always choose love over hate. Share. Care. Bear. Believe. Always believe.
Have faith. Be fluid. Know that healing takes many forms. Accept them. Be not afraid. Be alive.
Ask more for others than yourself. Be a beacon. Be a light. Shine. Be a peace maker.
Have no fear. Flow. Grow. Find abundance within.
Keep the hand that hold your heart open. Look into people, not at them. Let change renew you, not undo you.
Fly. Soar. Live true."

Last but not least, is the quote by Ghandhi..."Be the change you want to see in the world."
